Every nation that has a coastline, has a romantic association with the sea. In England it is the mixture of fishing villages with quays strewn with lobster baskets and fishing nets, and gaudy colourful tourist town full of music and fun. I found some beautifully chunky metal square rings in a Chandlery store by the sea, and created Sail Away, all the while humming the lyrics of ‘At the River’ by Groove Armada. The necklace is worked in Peyote stitch with Rivoli and crystals for the sparkle. Metal chain with beaded end caps completes the nautical medley. Sail Away can be worked with one, two or three pendants.
