Samarkand

There is something seductively magical about blending fine fabrics with delicate beaded details. I love wearing this necklace, it's so light to wear yet full of character. Style it up or down; it will blend with t-shirt and jeans or the little black evening dress. A shimmering silk bead lies at the heart of the Samarkand necklace, and yes, you make the bead first. It is a very easy construction, just one little seam and even that will be hidden by the beading. If you’ve ever mended a hem, or done the simplest of sewing, you’ll be fine. I’ve given the design an advanced rating, because you do need to be confident to have a play with mixed media.
